We’re a small, local team of qualified electricians who take pride in doing things properly.
Renewable energy can feel complicated, but to us it starts with solid electrical knowledge and practical experience.

When you contact us, you deal directly with the people who will be carrying out the work. We survey your property, design your system and complete the installation ourselves. Keeping things personal means clearer communication, better attention to detail and a standard of work we’re proud to put our name to.
Owen – Director
With over 20 years of experience as a fully qualified electrician, Owen co-leads Solar Severn with a strong focus on delivering high-quality installations and carefully designed solar solutions. He remains hands-on with installations while also managing system design and quotations, ensuring every project is tailored to each customer’s property and energy needs.
Passionate about renewable energy, Owen is committed to providing the best possible service with an honest and straightforward approach. He believes in giving customers clear advice and genuine recommendations, ensuring they fully understand their options and can make informed decisions with confidence.
Known for his friendly, easy-going personality and approachable nature, Owen helps make what can sometimes feel like a complex process straightforward and stress-free for customers.
Outside of Solar Severn, Owen also owns and runs a local fishery — combining his love of the outdoors with his entrepreneurial drive. He enjoys fishing, has recently started training in the gym, and values maintaining a healthy work–life balance. Much of his free time is spent with his wife and daughter, along with their much-loved French Bulldog, who keeps family life busy and entertaining.
Joe – Director
Joe brings over 20 years of experience as a fully qualified electrician and co-leads Solar Severn with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer care. As Director, he remains hands-on with installations while also managing DNO applications, certification, and final handover documentation — ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard from start to finish.
Passionate about renewables, innovation, and sustainability, Joe is committed to helping homeowners and businesses transition to cleaner, more efficient energy solutions. He takes real pride in neat, precise workmanship and believes attention to detail sets great installers apart. Approachable and easy to work with, Joe values clear communication and building long-term relationships with clients.
Outside of work, Joe enjoys mountain biking, running, and staying active in the gym. He places great importance on work-life balance and loves spending weekends with his wife and young son. A keen traveller, he enjoys exploring different cultures and cuisines and meeting new people — something that naturally carries through into his friendly and personable approach.

These boys were excellent! I couldn't recommend them more highly. From start to finish their service was second to none. The whole process was smooth and professional. They are very neat and tidy. I got the impression they really care about what they are doing. Joe even drove an hour away to a reclamation yard to buy some roof tiles that were already broken due to their age. Above and beyond service.

Very pleased with the installation of my Zapi Glo EV charge point in my garage. The installation was completed promptly in the location i requested and Joe took care to complete the installation very neatly and left no waste behind. Solar Severn have just completed our installation of panels, a battery, inverter & gateway. I was incredibly impressed by Joe & Owen's professionalism and efficiency in getting the work done.
When quoting they listened to what we were after and made excellent suggestions that have improved the installation that we hadn't thought of. The SigEnergy system is great and they explained how it was set-up and gave a quick tour of the app as well for us.
The job has been completed to a very high standard and they have left everything very neat and tidy too.

The guys at Solar Severn installed a complete system of solar panels, battery storage and car charger at my property. They made it an easy process right from the start, from the initial consultation all the through to the fitting and commissioning of the system. They gave great advice on what products were best and suitable and gave a clear demonstration of how it all worked.
I found them very knowledgeable and the workmanship was excellent. As with any new technology it can seem quite complicated, but they made it all very easy to understand and have been there to answer any questions, very helpful. I'm very impressed with the level of service and would highly recommend.

One of the main reasons for giving Solar Severn the job of adding batteries to our long-standing solar panel system was Owen’s immediate willingness to come out and carry out an onsite survey.
He explained the battery system clearly, answered questions, freely, offered good advice and all without a hard sell.
Owen and Joe installed the batteries in a friendly manner at the time we had arranged and without fuss or mess. Particular attention was paid to our various requests.

A very neat installation of solar panels and battery, delivered efficiently and with great professionalism, with the site left clean and tidy. I was impressed by the personal touch of the initial home visit and by the courtesy shown throughout the work programme.
Altogether, great value and I don't hesitate for a moment to recommend Solar Severn to others.

Solar Severn Electrical installed solar panels with a battery at my home in September 25, the installation was quick and efficient, and the attention to detail was impressive. They took great care not to damage my conservatory, directly below where they were working, and even cleaned the conservatory roof when they had finished. Jo and Owen were a delight to work with, they explained everything clearly and the app to monitor the solar input was explained fully and is easy to understand. I have now set the system to AI and am impressed by the fact that despite the recent weather we are still exporting power to the grid, I can't wait to see what happens over the summer, the system also uses cheaper electricity overnight to charge the battery which is then used to run the house at peak times when prices are more expensive. I would highly recommend Solar Severn and the products they install and I couldn't be happier with my system.

Fantastic end to end service from Joe and the Solar Severn Electrical team. We needed an EV charging point installed, Joe responded quickly, quoted accurately and delivered on time. I'm not sure you can ask for much more.
All work was carried out to a high standard, even routing cables under a set of steps without any fuss, and everything was left clean and tidy and the new charger tested and fully explained.

It’s very rare that I write a review for a Company, its product or its services. It means that Solar Severn must be exceptionally good or pretty rubbish. You decide…
We purchased a new property two years ago that had included some solar, we increased it to 2.7kW of solar a 3.6kW inverter and a 10 kW of BESS. The twist…it operated with an Off Grid facility – if the Grid goes down, we can still operate our essential services.
We wanted to increase our resilience and so sought out a Contactor to carry out the work. We had a very favourable recommendation from a near neighbour who kindly showed us around their upgraded installation and thoroughly recommended Solar Severn. This is what happened…
• We made an appointment, and they turned up on time and listened carefully to our requirements and gave some positive options.
• The quote arrived as scheduled with the required options.
• We agreed the options and a final price was settled.
• They gave us a start date, and arrived on the schedule date and time with all the gear.
• They worked hard for full days and did not “disappear” onto other jobs.
• The project was completed on schedule to give us an extra 3.9kW of PV another 3.6 kW inverter and a further 10kW of BESS.
• The one thing we had insisted on was the use of the same Manufacture for the principal kit, the Inverters and BESS so that we would not have any software/firmware incompatibility. – Guess what…?
• There were major software/firmware issues, the items were not fully compatible – even the Main Agents and some of the Manufactures personnel were not aware of this.
• Thanks to the tenacity of Owen and Joe and an awful lot of phone calls, firmware and software upgrades along with the replacement of key components the system became fully operational.
• Our final invoice arrived after a few days of full operational performance – its value – as the Quote. What about the estimated 15 to 20 hours of abortive time? No charge to us. Needless to say, they were paid in full by return.

Joe and Owen recently rewired my house and their work was second to none. Their professionalism, attention to detail, quality of workmanship were exceptional from start to finish. Absolutely awesome install from Joe and Owen at Solar Severn who installed an additional 12 solar panels (5.4kW) with Tigo optimisers and a Myenergi Libbi 10.2kW home battery with 5kW inverter. We already had a 2kW solar system, and a Zappi EV car charger so when they recommended the Libbi battery, it just made sense to stick with the same eco system we already had and had grown used to. Despite the rain and cloudy weather we’ve been having recently, we’ve not imported a single kilowatt of high priced energy from the grid since the install! And we are LOVING IT!! We import and top up the Libbi over night at a rate of 7p and then when the sun comes out we top up the battery again and power the house all through the evening on free sunshine. What could be better?! Both Joe and Owen worked really hard, doing everything from application to the DNO to commissioning and explaining how to use the system. They’re extremely tidy workers and considerate of our own and our neighbours gardens. They even found a few broken roof tiles and managed to find a perfect match and replaced and repaired as they went. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with on this project. We’d highly recommend Solar Severn to anyone thinking of getting or adding to an existing eco set up. We’d give 10 stars if we could. Thanks both for your hard work. Really appreciate it. We’ll reach out to you again for the Eddi and some other electrical work soon enough.

Brilliant efficient and tidy service for installing our solar panels and battery. No hassles and available after installation for any query calls. Explanation of the app and how it all works was v clear. We have previously used Solar Severn to install our Electric Vehicle Charging Unit which was done with equal efficiency. First rate and would highly recommend.
